At SBP, stakeholder engagement and transparency aren’t just principles – they are the foundation of everything we do. They shape our certification processes and guide our commitment to accountability.
How it works
- Biomass Producers consult stakeholders when evaluating their supply base
- Certification Bodies do the same when auditing those producers
- Both parties publish the details of these consultations, ensuring openness at every step
But we go further. Beyond certification requirements, we actively connect with our diverse stakeholders – industry partners, NGOs, policymakers, and communities – because your insights matter. Our goal is simple: to be open, transparent, and accessible.
We use multiple channels to share information, invite dialogue, and keep you informed. Whether through reports, consultations, or direct communication, we strive to make engagement meaningful and continuous.
Regional SBP Forums
As part of our commitment to meaningful stakeholder engagement, we launched the Regional SBP Forums in April 2024 – an initiative designed to strengthen relationships across all stakeholder groups.
The Forums aim to broaden and deepen engagement, with a particular focus on Civil Society Organisations. They provide a space for constructive dialogue among individuals, representative bodies, and commercial and non-profit organisations involved in, or interested in, the sustainable biomass sector.
We believe every voice should be heard. The Forums offer a collaborative platform to share insights, discuss challenges, and collectively shape the advice that may be submitted to SBP.
We have initially launched three Forums across our key operational regions:
